Virginia K. Cargill

Virginia Cargill is a Principal of KeyRock Partners with over 35 years of experience in consumer packaged goods, retail and in-store marketing, healthcare publishing and digital media; as a client, service provider, and successful entrepreneur. Currently she is providing consulting and advisory assistance to clients in media and software companies and to educational institutions in the area of strategic planning and sustainability.

Virginia is also a Venture Partner with Alerion Partners, a private equity firm in Darien, CT. In this capacity, Virginia served as the founding CEO of Health Focus Media; a specialty focused healthcare portfolio company that provides patient education through a private television network in doctors’ waiting rooms. She subsequently created for World Health Networks, a second television network, Smart TV, for the College of Cardiology. Both networks were sold to HealthBridge and now are part of the Health Media Network, Stamford, CT. 

Among Virginia’s recent executive roles, she was President and CEO of CBS Outernet, CBS’s digital media division now part of Outfront Media. The division provided in-store digital TV networks to grocery stores, GameStop and other retail locations, reaching over 78 million people nationwide every week. Virginia was also a co-founder of Caring Today Magazine/Caring which provided a quarterly magazine and website to family caregivers in over 30,000 doctors’ offices and 1,500 hospitals.

Previously, Virginia was the President of Lamaze Publishing/Newborn Channel, which became iVillage Parenting Group now part of NBC/Comcast and The Wellness Channel, respectively. Virginia also held significant leadership roles with in-store communications provider, ActMedia, where for over 12 years she helped develop and manage the most successful in-store promotional products launched to date. After being acquired by News Corporation in 1997, and now known as News America Marketing, that business continues to be the #1 in-store promotions company in the United States.  

Virginia began her career in brand management at General Mills and P&G after she received degrees from Wellesley College and the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. 

In a volunteer capacity, Virginia is on the P&G NY- Alumni Board and also serves on the boards of Fairfield Country Day School, Fairfield, CT. where she is a former Board Chair, and the Eagle Hill School, Southport, CT.
